No hotel experience would be complete without a signature restaurant, and the Chelsea is home to not one, but two, both conceived by Stephen Starr, the visionary restaurateur who conquered Philadelphia’s dining scene and then brought his successful restaurants Morimoto and Buddakan to New York City.
Starr Restaurants has harnessed its impeccable taste for fine food and knack for providing top-notch service, to create the Chelsea’s dining destinations. Both restaurants surprise at every turn with intriguing food and dynamic settings that seamlessly combine dining room, lounge, bar, and café into the ideal spot for a drink, meal, late-night get-together, or an entire evening of delicious diversions.

One of the Chelsea’s signature restaurants, and the focal point of the hotel’s social scene and destination, the 5th Floor, Chelsea Prime offers a fresh take on a steakhouse in a setting evocative of a 1940s supper club with indoor and outdoor seating, and a cocktail lounge with a curvilinear bar and entertainment in the form of a suitably timeless white grand piano. Chelsea Prime is decorated with classic black and white photographs of 1940s Atlantic City and features elevated Hollywood-style booths and sweeping ocean views, adding a touch of grandeur to every meal.

Named for the hotel’s original proprietors, this signature restaurant serves diner-inspired food in a fun, classic setting that also houses a hideaway cocktail lounge and coffee shop that is brought to life with original terrazzo floors, redwood walls, and cantilevered stools. Teplitzky’s also provides the hotel's twenty-four-hour room service, and a poolside menu for the saltwater pool.
Teplitzky’s offers a vibrant and fun setting that changes with the time of day: a sun-drenched breakfast canteen in the morning, it transforms into a bustling lunch scene by midday, and by evening becomes a swinging nightspot, gradually easing into a cool, late-night vibe perfect for wee-hours snacks, cocktails or a nightcap.
