Developed by Cape Advisors, Inc and operated by Cape’s own hotel management company, Cape Resorts, the Chelsea is in the very capable hands of a logical, experienced firm with a track record of envisioning, realizing, and operating hotel and hospitality projects that focus on adaptive reuse and historic preservation of landmark locations. Previous Cape Advisors successes include Congress Hall and The Virginia Hotel in Cape May, New Jersey.
To shape a vision of the Chelsea and bring it to life, Cape Advisors collaborated with a small band of creative allies. This perfect team includes designer Colleen Bashaw of Ridgewood, New Jersey, in collaboration with Shawn Hausman Design of Los Angeles, California, Stokes Architecture of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the Getty’s Group of Chicago, Illinois, all of them working in tandem with contractor Mike Bertino.
Founded by Curtis Bashaw and Craig Wood in 1996, Cape Advisors also has wide-reaching experience in the development of office and mixed-use projects, single and multi-family residences, warehouse and light industrial buildings, conference centers, land development, and retail projects.
The firm’s residential projects include 210 Lafayette Street (One Kenmare Square) and 19-23 St. Mark’s Place in New York City; The Sandpiper Beach Club and the Ocean House in Cape May, New Jersey; and the much-anticipated and critically acclaimed 100 Eleventh Avenue designed by French architect Jean Nouvel as well as the conversion, adaptive reuse and expansion of the landmark Bulova Watchcase Factory into stylish townhouse condominiums in the historic Hamptons village of Sag Harbor, New York. Cape Advisors is also currently developing The Mondrian SoHo Hotel in New York City with Morgan’s Hotel Group.
